Do you groom senior pets?

Do you groom difficult pets?

We will make every effort to do so.  The health and welfare of your dog is our number one top priority and if your pet is overly aggressive throughout  the grooming process we will not continue the session due to the stress on your dog and the potential danger to our groomer.  We will contact you to explain the situation and answer any questions you may have at that time. We have found very few dogs that are in this category, however.

Is grooming a necessity for my dog?

How often should my dog be groomed?

What is your cancellation policy?

Do you accept walk ins?

Can I get my dog groomed if his/her shots are not up to date?

As a grooming customer can my dog enjoy time at the daycare before being groomed?

Absolutely! A clean canine is a happy pet!  Our professional groomer is trained in not only the latest trends and breed standard styles and clips for your pet, but is  also trained to identify and treat the various skin problems and coat deficiencies your pet may encounter.  Regular grooming is as necessary for your canine companion as regular vet visits and a proper diet, all three combined are a well balanced combination for a happy, healthy canine.

Absolutely! The gentle hands of our groomer and unique design of our salon makes grooming for your senior dog a comfortable experience.  We take our time and allow your senior dog to dictate the session .  We understand that  some situations in grooming are not designed for senior dogs, and we have taken great lengths to eliminate these situations.  With our specially designed bathing room senior dogs are able to comfortably be bathed in our open bathing area, we have also installed special support systems to alleviate the stress of having to stand for long periods of time.  Your dog has devoted years of loyal companionship and love to you, let us devote the time to loving and respectfully make them look and feel their best!

Every breed should be professionally groomed roughly four (4) to six (6 )weeks.  Even dogs with short hair or those who are considered “low maintenance” require grooming for their comfort and well being.

For the safety of the dogs entrusted to our care and the safety of our groomer if you are not able to provide proof of current Rabies vaccination we will be unable to groom your dog until such documents can be provided.

We view our clientele as family and understand that in the rush of everyday life sometimes dates, times, and appointments can be forgotten or overlooked.  This is why we will be initiating appointment conformation calls 24 to 48 hours in advance of scheduled grooming session.  They will serve as friendly reminder extended to all. We anticipate these courtesy calls alleviating missed scheduled grooming sessions. However, habitual no show, no call clients may  be required to place a good faith deposit on future grooming sessions.

We tailor each clients visit to maximize relaxation and comfort therefore all appointments for grooming and spa treatments must be scheduled.  However, if your dog is in need of a basic nail clip or ear cleaning feel fee to give us a call and we will give you an arrival time on that day which allows our groomer to spend adequate time with your dog.  Here at The Dog Works even a nail clip deserves time and tlc!

The daycare center has many fantastic programs that bring new meaning to “dog days!” However, to be eligible to participate your dog must pass a screening process.  If your dog is accepted into the program any grooming service can be added to your dogs day of frolic and play at the daycare center.  For more information on the daycare center, their programs, and screening process see Dog Days on our navigation bar, you and your canine companion will be glad you did!

Do you offer training sessions to clients how to properly maintain coat condition between grooms?

We offer classes with our groomer every 3rd Sunday of the month.  The classes deal with various grooming related topics such as: How to deal with knots in your dogs coat and how to groom your dog in between sessions at the groomer.  Since these classes are limited to a small and intimate few and tend to fill rather quickly registration is required. To view the next class click here: Grooming Sessions
