Adolescent & Young Adult Dog Training Classes

We are pleased to announce training classes with a focus on adolescents and young adult dogs every Saturday from May 9 to June 13.

The classes are for dogs aged 6 months to 18 months old.

This program is a major commitment on your part to help make your dog the best companion he/she can be. Attendance at all 6 classes is important and required as we will be building on the learned skills from the week before.

Classes will begin by introducing everything needed for a well-trained dog: focus, attention, control, and last but not least, fun! You’ll learn the basics, such as sit, down, stand, hand target, to-go mat, and attention cues. Plus, how to apply these skills to achieve harmony in your home and daily life.

From there we will be building on those foundations and dive further into focus and attention to cues for reliability in a world of distractions.

We’ll introduce valuable real-world skills like leash manners, stay and release, 4 on the floor (no jumping or counter surfing), and recall (come when called).

Once those skills are learned, we’ll focus on carefully adding more complex work at an appropriate level for your dog. We’ll explore alternative ways to reward your dog and grow their off-leash reliability. We’ll get super recalls and focus with added distractions to get them ready for their life of adventures with you!

Properly trained teenagers grow into well-rounded adult dogs who know how to properly act around other dogs and humans alike.

Training sessions are limited to a maximum of 6 dogs, so availability may be limited.

Intensive Leash Training Classes

Dog Days Trainer/Behaviorist Jeannette Rybak is offering her course, “Intensive Leash Training”, on Saturdays from 6/14 thru 7/29 to help dogs that need to learn to walk better on a leash.

This 6-week intensive program focuses on exercises that are designed to not only teach your dog to walk next to you, but also how to practice impulse control and calm down in order to get to the root of the leash walking problem. We will start the training here on the grounds of Dog Days and then work up to meeting off our property to put the dogs in different scenarios with different distractions.

A leash-trained dog is a dog that has been taught to walk with a loose leash by your side, and one that doesn't pull, cross in front of you or bark uncontrollably at the sight of other dogs, cats, humans, or other distractions.

To start, owners and their pups will meet in the Ruff House (big building in the back) for 1 ½ hour sessions and when Jeannette feels the group is ready, she will instruct you where to meet.

The cost is $500 for the 9 hours of training.

Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.

Times are 11:30AM – 1PM each day.

Class sizes will be limited to 6 dogs with registration and payment required by 6/7/26.

Owners should bring a long leash (not a retractable one), a harness, some yummy treats (please not their dog food but a treat they truly love and will work hard for) and a positive and calm attitude.

Sorry, for safety reasons, no children allowed.

WOOF!

Construction Of Our New Training Facility Has Begun!

After more than 3 long years, work has finally begun on our new 3,400 sqft. Training Center!

The new building (expected to be completed in late Spring) will provide training space for Jeannette’s group classes, board-and-train space for up to 10 dogs to come for long-term training at any one time, living quarters for Jeanette, and lots of other things we have planned.

Please bear with us as there may be occasional entry/exit inconveniences and use caution in the driveway as heavy equipment moves around the site.

We’re all very excited about this new chapter and wanted to share our plans with you.

Thank you for your continued patronage and support!

If you would like to see the construction plans for this project, it can be found here.
