Where to start.

There's a lot of information to take in here and we've done our very best to try and convey all the pertinent information you may need while, at the same time, trying to keep our information as streamlined as possible. If it all seems a bit overwhelming, we'll boil it all down to the absolute basics to get you started on your way to daycare attendance.

Here is how to get the tennis ball rolling!

  1. First things first. Please be aware all dogs must be spayed or neutered to attend daycare. The only exception is for puppies under the age of 7 months.

  2. Familiarize yourself with our services and policies by reading the sections that pertain to daycare and sleepovers.

  3. Complete a Daycare/Boarding Intake form here.

  4. Upon receipt of your completed intake form, we will contact you to then make an appointment for your daycare interview. When you and your pooch come to the daycare during this assessment, your dog will be off-leash and both you and your dog will begin a tour of the facility. Your dog will be gradually introduced to the pack one by one. You will stay for approximately a half hour to be sure your dog is doing well. Assuming so, you will leave and allow us to keep your dog with us for a few hours so we can help him get comfortable and enjoy his new friends and surroundings.

  5. When you return to pick up your pooch we'll let you know how he did. If he seemed to enjoy being with us, then he's welcome to come for daycare and boarding.

That's it!

Most dogs pass with flying colors, however, others are simply just not a good fit for an open pack setting. For your dog's well being, the safety of our employees and the other dogs in our care, some dogs should not attend.

What to expect on your first visit to the daycare.

When you and your dog arrive at our facility, you'll both be a bundle of emotions. Excitement, nervousness, anxiousness, happiness... the entire gamut. When your dog finds that there are 10 to 30 dogs waiting to play, he or she will probably be shaking with excitement about the possibility of joining in. Sometimes dog parents think this shaking is from fear or nervousness but it is sheer excitement! It’s like a little child walking into Disneyland for the first time!

You’ll probably also experience a high level of dog communication within our facility. As you come in, our dogs will be very pleased to see both of you, so you might hear some barking and a whole lot of sniffing. All of this is normal. Just come into our reception area with your dog, and we’ll direct you both from there.

At this point, we’ll want to make sure that all of your paperwork is complete, and that you have your vaccination records with you, if they have not already been submitted.

We will also collect the $20 Peace of Mind program fee during this time. More information on our Peace of Mind program can be found here.

The assessment interview takes about 20 to 30 minutes.

Just want to stop in for a tour?

Maybe you've heard all the great things about Dog Days and you just want to stop in and see what all the fuss is about. We'd love to show you around! Simply reach out to us to make an appointment and we'll get you all set up for a nickel tour ASAP. Since we are an open pack environment, we only give tours by appointment to ensure everyone's safety.  Having new people coming in and out of the pack during the day can disrupt the dogs natural play and rest/sleep cycles. We schedule our tours for early in the morning or mid-afternoon while all the dogs are all at similar energy levels. We do ask that you please not bring your dog to the facility as your dog's visit is part of our assessment process. He'll get to sniff and poke around soon enough, but all things in due course.
